About Me
Welcome to my site!
I am a programmer and web developer living in the San Francisco Bay Area. I've worked with a variety of languages over the years, such as c, c++, java, and php, and most often these days I'm using php along with a framework such as symfony or cakephp, or more recently my focus has shifted away from more traditional application frameworks to content management systems (CMS) such as drupal to better leverage my time and allow me to get things done quicker and more cost effectively for my clients.
I'm currently AVAILABLE for contract Web Development in and around the San Francisco Bay Area, or projects that I can work on remotely.
Well, that was FUN!!! :D
It was a special day, not to mention a beautiful one, and a personal milestone in my "rebirth" as cyclist. 7am on Sunday I was on the road, riding to the start of the Grizzly Peak Century. I've done this century a few times in the past, before my "slip" from cycling, and the inevitable weight gain that eventually came with it.
d6 unit testing
Simple Test is available as a module for drupal 6, this brings unit testing into the drupal 6 framework, yay!
There are however, two things to watch out for, first you have to patch core. The required patch instructions as well as an option patch to "show fatal errors in tests" are documented in the module's INSTALL.txt file...
dcsf 2010 postmortem
What seemed like something that would go on forever, being self perpetuated by the people, ideas, and directed chaos at the show is now over, in the proverbial blink of an eye. As I woke this morning, I realized I didn't have to hustle to get dressed, grab my laptop and other items to get me through the day at the conference, and hustle out the door to the Moscone Center. Somehow that feels wrong. I knew it wouldn't last forever, but at the same time I feel a bit empty today, lacking the routine that in just a few short days became my life.
MediaFront
Haven't tried it yet, but the MediaFront plugin for drupal looks rather cool.

I'm looking forward to giving it a try and kicking the tires. Look for a review soon!
Two Great Things that go Together
Two great things are coming together this afternoon, TWIT and Lullabot.
TWIT is arguably one of the best tech, geeky, and fun pod/video cast networks on the internet. Hats off to Leo Laporte for having the vision, passion, and tenacity to grow his community from the ground up. Kudos Leo!
Lullabot has been producing top notch training videos for drupal. They are well thought out, produced, and highly recommended for those looking to expand their drupal knowledge.
drupalcon or bust!
One week to go until drupalcon sf takes over my life for a few days. Actually less than a week to go, there's the core development summit on Saturday, but that's only open if you have a lightning presentation prepared and ready to give. Oh well, maybe next year, but it sure would have been nice to be a fly on the wall for that part.
